Ministries and Events

We believe it is our calling and responsibility to “shine the Light” of Jesus in our community. We do that in a variety of ways, and are always looking for more and better ways. Here are some of the compassion ministries we do…

  • Our Food Pantry is open Tuesdays, 2pm to 6 pm and provides needed grocery and hygiene items for low income residents of Randolph County.
  • Threads is our used clothing ministry. It is open on the second Tuesday of the month from 2pm – 5pm.
  • Generations is our mentoring ministry for children at Monroe Central Elementary School. Volunteer mentors spend one hour each week with at-risk students identified by the school administration.
  • Sack Pack provides weekend food for elementary children who depend on the free lunch program on school days.
  • Senior Partners are folks who encourage and offer support to those up in years, some of whom are not able to attend church anymore. The support can range from sending notes of encouragement to helping in practical ways, such as providing rides to doctor appointments or helping with a need around the house.
  • Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse to kids in another part of the world!  We pack shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items, toys, and simple clothing items.  Samaritan’s Purse adds a gospel booklet to explain the good news of Jesus’ love, and then these are taken to needy children near Christmastime.

We also love to involve our community with opportunities for fun and fellowship!

  • Our annual Father’s Day Cruise-In is a popular car and tractor show in our region. We’ve had as many as 160 entries, with some coming from as far as Indianapolis and southern Michigan!
  • Farmland Friends Church Futbol Club is a youth recreational soccer club with twelve teams on six fields around our church building! Young athletes develop soccer skills in a low-pressure atmosphere. They learn sportsmanship and other skills for life. Best of all, they hear about Jesus! Coaches lead in prayer and devotions at half-time of each game.
  • Fall Festival draws nearly 400 children and parents to enjoy games, food, music, lots of activities, a petting zoo, a scripture scavenger hunt, and a gospel presentation.
  • Concerts and drama productions are fun and meaningful ways to communicate our love for Jesus!
